Sunny Fulong

When there is a music festival on Fulong Beach, it is packed with a variety of people. Taiwanese who normally would stay out of the sun pack the white sand like sardines.

We were lucky enough to be sardined next to a festive group who came all the way from Kaohshiung to booze it up in the sun.

What does it mean when the guy with the darkest tan wears the biggest hat? This only happens once every year! On Fulong! Be there next year!

Gym buddies on Fulong Beach

During summer Fulong Beach in Taiwan can get really crowded. And then there is something for every taste.

Standing on the beach showing off a sculpted physique on a crowded beach is sure to attract some attention, wanted or not.

I cannot decide whether I like a good chest or developed legs best. Choices, choices ....

Surfers at Honeymoon Bay

As someone who always have a camera on hand, it is not surprising to find long-forgotten photos on my hard drive. It is like going on memory lane, with the pictures bringing back memories. I used to visit the West coast of Taiwan rather frequently in the summer and here are some of the reasons for that.

Honeymoon Bay is one of the most popular beaches for surfers in Taiwan as the waves can get high enough for some surf, and it is not too far from Taipei, where most people from the North work and or live. It is easily accessible by train as the Dashi train station is very close.

Honeymoon Bay has different sections. The swimmers tend to use the southern area as the sand is better, and the foreigners like the northern area which is very rocky but very close to the station.

For anyone who has ever surfed, you would know why surfers have the tautest stomachs on the planet, without having to do 500 sit-ups every day - surfing really works one's stomach muscles. So for all those beer drinkers out there - it's time to take up surfing!

Spring Scream

The one thing I really like about music festivals is that people leave their inhibitions at home. Maybe it is the copious amounts of alcohol that are consumed, or maybe just like-minded people enjoying the feeling of freedom which is surely not possible in many Asian countries.

Whatever the reason, I happened upon a group of guys who were feeling exhibitionistic. Wherever they saw a camera they posed.

Since it was a music festival they might have been from a band. And judging from appearance they might also be Japanese.

Not only the pubes were flashed but I got mooned. Not sure who were happier, the bystanders or the photographers.

If anyone recognizes this group of guys, please leave a comment.
